Meet Dr. Naydeen González-De Jesús, Higher Education Visionary

Dr. González-De Jesús is a distinguished leader in higher education and organizational development, with a strong focus on transforming lives through education, strategic leadership, and data-driven decision-making. She advocates for inclusivity and stands firmly against all forms of discrimination, including antisemitism. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Lawrence Campus and Community Relations at Northern Essex Community College, she previously held the role of college president in Texas. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education and international diplomacy, Dr. González-De Jesús boasts a comprehensive portfolio that includes her tenure as a Public Diplomacy Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Argentina. There, she played a pivotal role in facilitating an Education Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Argentina during the G20 World Summit.
She is also the founder and CEO of Empowered Group Strategies LLC, a consultancy she founded in 2016 that promotes progress through education, entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and organizational change. A 2022 Aspen Rising Presidential Fellow, Dr. González-De Jesús has received numerous honors throughout her career, including being named Texas Diversity Council’s San Antonio Woman of the Year in 2024 and earning a National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Bronze Award in 2023 for her Front and Center podcast. Her work with the U.S. Department of State was recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Eagle Award.
Dr. González-De Jesús holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Northcentral University, a master’s degree in Student Personnel Services from Rowan University, a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Penn State University, and a certificate in Ministerial Studies and Theology from Global University.
